Border Waveski Trial #1 Nahoon Reef 14th Feb 2010

The first Border trial kicked off this Sunday 14th Feb 07:30, much to the disappointment of many wives and girlfriends. However the surf started off with perfect 3-5ft clean warm off shore winds surf. The contestants, whom didn't run the annual surfers marathon, were surfing well but showing signs of not having surfed competitively for some time. Those that had run the surfers, I think thats just Chris and I, were in no position to fight for and honour and glory. Chris determined to show me up however managed to win each of his heats, I had the tough riders namely Cowen and Burger in the my heats!
I was really impressed with the smooth running of the event and the level of commitment to the sport. JP, Jan, Johan and the all whom attended thanks for a fantastic event, even though you did make me paddle out through 2 onshore dumping sessions before calling off the contest, resultless, due to a little sharky who happens to live there anyway!
